What Beverages Can You Drink When On a Diet
When you’re dieting, you know that you need to drink more water. But when you’re tired of plain old water, what else can you drink that will keep you on your program?
There are actually many beverages you can drink that will leave you feeling satisfied without harmful health effects or excess calories.
Here is a list of some things you might want to try when you feel like you just can’t down another glass of water:
- Coffee – prepared without a lot of extra sugar and cream
- Tea – hot or iced
- Herbal tea
- Sugar Free drinks such as Crystal Light or lemonade
- Flavored waters
- Diet soda
- 100% fruit juice (this has calories, though, so you may need to keep portions small)
- Milk (also has calories)
While there are many things you can drink, there are some things you’ll want to limit or avoid. High calorie beverages such as fruit punch, regular soda, and flavored coffees with a lot of cream and sugar are not your best choice.
They don’t do much to give you good nutrition and they offer a lot of empty calories. Save these options for a special treat instead of an everyday occurrence.
